Ginger Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

A steaming cup of hot chocolate on a winter day is kind of the best. To get all of the health benefits and flavours of dark chocolate, we use the real stuff then add warming spices like ginger and cinnamon.

Dark chocolate is filled with heart-healthy cocoa flavanols and wide variety of powerful antioxidants. Ginger it is known to help reduce exercise-induced muscle soreness, while cinnamon is both warming and stress-reducing.

Sip it by the fire preferably aprés ski.

Prepare: 5 minutes

Storage: Best consumed immediately

Ingredients:

  • 500ml low fat milk or unsweetened almond milk
  • 1tsp ground ginger
  • 1tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2tsp honey or maple syrup
  • 200g dark chocolate (70-90% cocoa) chopped
  • pinch of sea salt

1. Combine the milk, ginger and cinnamon in saucepan over a medium-low heat until almost boiling.

2. Next, add the chocolate and sea salt and gently stir until fully melted.

3. Whisk until frothy and serve immediately.
