Wild Green Smoothie

This is our new favourite green smoothie that contains wild edible plants. It is super green, super delicious and super packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. The unique combination of ingredients helps reduce the bitterness of dandelion and the earthiness of nettle which is counteracted by the sweetness of pineapple, kiwi and the refreshing minty taste of basil. A powerful and easy way to help you detox your body this spring.

Storage: Best consumed immediately

Ingredients:

  • 120-240 ml water or coconut water
  • 1/2 cup wild nettles, blanched and drained
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 6 dandelion leaves
  • 1 kiwi, chopped
  • ¼ pineapple chopped
  • ½ lime juice
  • 5 basil leaves
  • 10 wild daisy blooms
  • pinch of sea salt

1. Place the water (start with 120ml and add more for your desired consistency) kiwi and pineapple in a high-speed blender and blend until almost smooth.

2. Add the spinach, nettle and dandelion greens and continue to blend. Gradually mix in the remaining ingredients, reserving the basil and daisy blooms for last. Add more water if necessary and blend for an energizing & refreshing wild green smoothie.

3. Serve immediately.

Tip: For an extra hydrating wild green smoothie use coconut water in place of water. And if you'd like to add more sweetness put an additional half a cup of pineapple.
