Tonic Green Smoothie

A great pick-me-up smoothie that's packed with nutritional goodies. Perfect for a refreshing breakfast or whenever you need a boost of energy. The Lime and Pineapple offset the earthiness of raw spinach and nettle. Spinach will aid in skin detoxification, Ginger will improve your digestion while Nettle with its high content in vitamins and minerals will boost energy and enhance detoxification. Plus the Cucumber hydrating properties will prevent the accumulation of harmful free radicals.

Storage: Best consumed immediately

Ingredients:

  • 1 small cucumber, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 100g wild nettle leaves, blanched and drained
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • ¼ fresh pineapple cut into chunks
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 lime, juice
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1 tsp bee pollen

1. Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender, add half a cup of filtered water and blend until smooth. Add more water if necessary until you reach your desired consistency.

2. Pour in two high glasses and sprinkle over the bee pollen. Serve immediately.

Tip: If you'd like your smoothie sweeter, add another half an apple.
